I decided to see the movie that everyone is talking about, Social Network. It’s the movie that explores all the development of what we know as Facebook. Like most people, I found the movie entertaining and it gave me some insight on all the pieces of how Facebook took off and created so many online ‘crack heads’. As I left the theater I was a little curious. I was curious about a few of my ex’s from the past. A few random hook-ups and a few dates gone bad.
Once I arrived at home, I did a little bit of online snooping. I spent about 15 minutes looking for a couple women that I’ve dated in the past. And it always amazes me the Six Degrees of Separation that exists in my world. I was already aware that my arch enemy is close friends with LA42. But there are a few others that I had no clue were friends. As many as 10 of my past booty calls are friends with each other. I know that a few of them are neighbors and several others hang out at the same places. Which makes me wonder how much of their past dating experiences they share in girl talk with each other.
It was only a couple years ago, I received a phone call from a b/c who said she was sitting with one of my ex’s at softball practice. At the time I had no clue who she was referring to, but after a brief and humorous conversation, we all laughed about it. Basically their daughters played on the same softball team and they were having girl talk in the stands. And when they were talking about their online dating experiences, my name was mentioned. They both had positive things to say about me, but it made things weird going forward with a booty call. They even mentioned that the chance of them meeting was a 1 in a million chance, but that was before the Facebook phenomenon. Now it’s possible they could meet without being at the same softball game.
At one time google your date was the best way to get information about your potential date, but I’m sure Facebook is quicker.
